26/11/2009 - SWISS COMBI successfully re-engineered its low temperature KUVO belt dryer. The new belt dryer is stronger modularized and can be manufactured more cost effective. All components can be transported in standard size trucks or 40” containers. The assembly of the modules on site is fast and easy without any welding requirement. Access for inspection and maintenance has been optimized.

Furthermore the lateral sealing’s have been improved resulting in reduced leakage air and lower dust emissions. Depending on the local requirements different noise reduction concepts can be applied.

Existing benefits remain, such as the high efficiency and the low electrical consumption due to the proven two-layer system.

The SWISS COMBI belt dryer is a proven low temperature belt dryer. It can use waste heat from other process (e.g. CHP) as a heat source. A wide variety of bulky biomass can be dried, such as saw dust, wood chips, bark, etc. Due to the low drying temperature no significant VOC is emitted. As the product layer acts as a filter bed, the dust emissions are very low.
