Challenges

The quality of dried products depends on the flexibility of the dryers. The drying process is also energy intensive and requires high expenditure of primary energy.

Emissions (odours, dust, "blue haze") are problematic.

The solution: the SWISS COMBI ecoDry drum dryer, the SWISS COMBI Belt Dryer, the SWISS COMBI ecoWash flue gas scrubber

High product quality:
  • due to gentle vapour drying (SWISS COMBI ecoDry)
  • due to indirect drying (SWISS COMBI Belt Dryer)
Low emission values:
  • through integrated thermal afterburning (SWISS COMBI ecoDry)
  • through indirect low temperature drying (SWISS COMBI Belt Dryer)
  • reduced dust emissions through gas flue scrubbing (SWISS COMBI ecoWash)
Reduced fire hazard:
  • through an inert drying atmosphere (SWISS COMBI ecoDry)
  • through low temperature drying (SWISS COMBI Belt Dryer)
In addition, SWISS COMBI ecoDry features a high drying capacity per unit (up to 40 t/h water evaporation). The energy recovery potential is due to a high dew point (i.e. heating of waste heat evaporator or SWISS COMBI Belt Dryer).

Both the SWISS COMBI ecoDry and the SWISS COMBI Belt Dryer allow the use of alternative fuels and feature high availability.
