Challenges

Energy intensive drying requires high expenditure of primary energy. The quality of the by-products (viscosity, adhesiveness, fluidity) make them challenging to manage and difficult to dispose of.

Dryers must therefore be able to surmount large masses of product. High dried product quality depends on high drying temperatures that are difficult to achieve; Dryers must therefore run almost continuously in their application.

The Solution: SWISS COMBI ecoDry drum dryer

Gentle vapour drying enables a high quality of processed products. SWISS COMBI ecoDry has a high drying capacity up to 40 t water evaporation per hour per unit. Due to a high dew point, there is large potential to recover energy (i.e. the heating of waste heat evaporator).

SWISS COMBI ecoDry features high availability. Low fire hazard is due an inert drying atmosphere. The integrated cooling of the products has a positive effect on handling of the dried final product.

Low emission values can be achieved by integrated thermal oxidizing. Biogas as well as other alternative fuels can be used for secondary fuel.
