More than 500 SWISS COMBI drying plants with capacities of up to 50 tons evaporation per hour have been constructed in more than 40 countries. Those plants are predominantly drying grass as animal feed for low-loss conservation.

Pomace from the Fruit Juice industry, sugar-beet chips as byproducts from sugar extraction, potato pulp and potato waste from starch production – just to mention a few - are other agricultural products dried the traditional way with our plants.

Focusing on new market segments, we implemented a new process in 1989 to dry sludge. This process, featuring a closed-loop vapour system and integrated incineration of exhalation and toxic gas, is patented under the trade mark SWISS COMBI ecoDry. The SWISS COMBI ecoDry process also features:

Our proprietary drying process can also be retrofitted on existing drum dryers. The retrofitted SWISS COMBI ecoDry process is very advantageous for all drying processes where exhaust air has odour or high emission values and for all processes where energy consumption is a crucial economic factor.

During the last few years, our focus has been in the area of wood pellets and bio ethanol. With the increasing standards on wood pellets, the demand on belt dryers to dry saw dust and wood chips has raised, too. In the wood industry, the SWISS COMBI Belt Dryer (KUVO) is a proven, robust, reliable and easy to maintain solution.

Due to the decision of the USA to replace the fuel additive "Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether" (MTBE) with ethanol as well as the decision of the EU to add 10% ethanol to fuel by 2020, the demand on ethanol plants raised significantly. In those plants, large amounts of "distiller's grains" (DGS) emerge. Those DGS are dessicated to "Dried Destiller's Grains with Solubles" (DDGS), a protein-rich, valuable animal feed. The SWISS COMBI ecoDry is a very suitable solution for this process.
