SWISS COMBI ecoDry - Superheated Steam Drying

Efficient - Low odor - Eco friendly

The drying technology SWISS COMBI ecoDry is based on  a indirect heated drying process with a closed superheated steam loop and a process integrated thermal oxidation of the dryer exhaust gas. The heat generation is separated from the drying process by a unique high temperature gas/gas heat exchanger. The water in the drying loop, evaporated from the product, generates an inert atmosphere of superheated steam with a high dew point and a low oxygen content.

Drying with superheated steam is gentle to the product and has a low risk of fire and explosions due to the low oxygen content. Emissions such as odors and VOC’s are reduced with the same destruction efficiency as an RTO (Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer), but without the additional natural gas consumption.

SWISS COMBI ecoDry permits a water evaporation rate between 5 to 40t/h. The product can be dried down to a residual moisture content of 1%. It can be heated by different energy sources (e.g. natural gas, oil, coal, or also biomass). This proprietary drying process can also be retrofitted to existing drum dryers. We also offer custom-made solutions such as integrated product cooling, for example, in the ethanol and starch industry.
