ecoDry Drum Dryer
The SWISS COMBI ecoDry is an indirectly heated drum dryer. Drying is done with superheated steam at atmospheric pressure.
Residual products from ethanol or starch production can be used as animal feed after drying.
Grains such as maize, wheat or barley serve as raw materials for ethanol production.
The product left over after fermentation is dried into dried stillage (DDGS), a protein-rich animal feed.
The ecoDry technology is used in the production of both potable alcohol and ethanol for blending into gasoline.
In the starch industry, the residual product consisting of fiber and fermented corn or wheat mash (CSL) is dried into a corn or wheat gluten feed, which is then used as an animal feed for ruminants.
