Bagasse (sugar cane) - Sugar beet pulp

After the sugar juice is extracted from the sugar cane, bagasse remains, which can be used as fuel in the sugar factory to produce steam and electricity. When the bagasse is pre-dried, its calorific value increases and it is even sufficient to generate and provide electricity between sugar harvests.
Thanks to the increase of the calorific value by drying, the consumption of fuel can be reduced. The constant quality of the dried fuel makes it possible to both operate the energy center with a higher efficiency and to obtain better emission values.
Sugar beet pulp is pre-dried or final dried after the so-called leaching on the belt dryer and processed into a feed.
