The SWISS COMBI ecoTwin is the combination of our ecoDry drum dryer and our belt dryer. The steam extracted from the ecoDry is converted into hot water in a condenser, which then supplies the belt dryer with heat. This makes optimum use of the energy input.
With the ecoTwin it is possible to run the same raw material through both dryers one after the other, or to dry different products in parallel in the two dryers (e.g. an unpleasant smelling product in the ecoDry and wood chips on the belt dryer).
Due to the double use of energy, the energy demand is about 550 kW per ton of water evaporation. This is a very low value compared to the otherwise usual 1,000 kW per ton of water evaporation.
In the ecoTwin, the belt dryer is usually the pre-dryer and the ecoDry the final dryer. Depending on the product, however, the reverse sequence is also possible. In this case, the wet product is first pre-dried with superheated steam in the ecoDry drum dryer. Final drying takes place particularly gently through air drying on the belt dryer.
